New Graduate Nurse Residency

• • Blended Online and Classroom Learning: Progress through 3 phrases of residency over the course of 1 year

                                    Phase 1: Clinical Competence Course (12-16 weeks)

• • review pathophysiology of conditions affecting multiple body systems (e.g. cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, endocrine, mental and behavioral health)
  • General patient care and nursing practice (e.g. medication administration, pain management, critical thinking)

Phase 2: Culture Competence Course (16 weeks)

• • Integration into the Nursing profession (e.g. communication, integrity & ethics, patient-centered care)
  • Healthcare policy and regulatory framework
  • Healthcare business & Finance

Phase 3: Leadership Development Course (16 weeks)

• • Cohort Conferences
  • Capstone Project
  • Teamwork and Leadership (introduction to precepting)
  • Advancing nursing career
  • Evidence-based research affecting practice
